Overcast New Feature Release – 12.08.2022
We hope you’re having a great week. We’ve released a new feature to add an additional option when filtering on your activity log. Users with the relevant permissions can now filter by company name which makes it even easier for you to see how your collaborators are working on the platform.

Company Name Filter:
We have added extra functionality to the existing filter options on the Overcast Platform as part of our development roadmap. This gives our users added flexibility on top of the existing filter features.
How does it work?
First, we need all new users when signing up, or existing users to update their user profile to include the company who they are working for. It’s really easy to do and we can show you how:
Click on the initials in the top right hand corner of the page and then select “My Profile”.
This will take you to your user profile. We can now select edit from the menu options to see each of the editable fields. First name, Last name and Email have already been prefilled from registration for you. You will see “Company name” below the Contact phone field.
Once you have input your company name into the field, you will see the green save button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Select the save button and your company name will have been updated.
*Pro Tip* – when inputting your company name, please ensure it is formatted correctly. I.e Overcast HQ, and watch for spelling errors.. (It happens to the best of us!).
For users with the relevant permissions, once the user’s profile has been updated, you will now be able to use the new filter feature to filter by “Company name”. Let us show you how:
Select the hamburger menu in the top left hand corner of the page and click on “Dashboard” which is located at the bottom of the menu options.
This will take you to your dashboard where you can view data related to your platform. On the right hand side you can see the “Activity log” – by clicking on the Blue “Filters” button, we can search using the activity log filters.

Once within the “Activity log” you can use the filters on the left hand side of the page to easily find the information you need to know. You will see the new addition of “Company name” below “Users”.
Simply select the relevant filters and insert your desired company name. Your results will appear on the right hand side of the page. In this example, I have used the filters with the “Company name” as Overcast HQ and “Timeframe” within the last seven days.
(*Pro Tip* – When entering the “Company name”, once you have entered three letters, a prompt will pop up to suggest companies that you might be searching for – see the image example above.)
And that’s it!
You’ve now seen how to add and update your Company name within the Overcast platform.
