Overcast New Feature Release – 06.07.2022 |

Additional Folder Options:
We have added extra functionality to the existing folder options on the Overcast Platform as part of our development roadmap. This gives our users added flexibility on top of the existing folder features.
The original folder features were:
- Add new folder
- Edit folder
- Delete folder
The additional folder options are:
- Copy folder
- Move folder
- Share folder
How does it work?
Let’s take a closer look at each of the added folder functions in more detail, so you can see how this works.
You first need to select which project your folder is located in and click on the three dots next to the folder name to display your folder options.
Now we can select the new folder functions and see how each of them work. Each button will turn Blue as you hover your mouse over the selected folder option.
Copy folder:
After selecting “Copy folder” you will be presented with the following prompt.

You will then be able to select which project, and then into which folder you would like your folder to be copied to.

Once you have selected your project and folder – you can go ahead and press copy. After this has been completed, you will see a prompt in the bottom right hand corner confirming that you have copied your folder. You then have the option to click through to your newly copied folder destination where you will find your newly copied folder! Your original folder will still be in its original location, as you have selected to copy the folder and not move it.

Move folder:
After selecting “Move folder” you will be presented with the following prompt.

You will then be able to select which project, and then into which folder you would like your folder to be moved to.

Once you have selected your project and folder – you can go ahead and press move. After this has been completed, you will see a prompt in the bottom right hand corner confirming that you have moved your folder. You then have the option to click through to your new folder destination where you will find your moved folder. You will see that the folder has moved from its original to its new location after the move has been completed.

Share folder:
After selecting “Share folder” you will be presented with the following prompt.

Firstly, you will find a pre-filled email subject line. This line is required, but is fully editable, should you wish to change it.
Secondly, you will find the message box. You can write a personal message to your recipient here.
Last but not least you will find the users box. Here, you can select the users that you wish to share the folder with to review. You can search for users by typing their name, email address, or by scrolling down on the menu. You can see a completed version of the prompt below:

When you have completed the “Send folder to review” prompt and are happy with the content and recipients, it’s time to share the folder. Just click on the green send button at the bottom of the prompt.
After this has been completed, you will see a prompt in the bottom right hand corner confirming that you have shared your folder for review.

Your recipient will then receive an email that looks like this:
