1. In the menu bar at the top of the page, the green “Upload Files” button is visible – click it to begin uploading your files.
2. A pop-up window will appear. Here you can select which files to upload from your computer, which projects they belong in and what keywords you’d like to associate with them.
3. When finished, click Upload Files.

Step by Step:

1. Click into the hamburger menu in the top left of your screen.
2. Choose “users”
3. Click “invite new user (blue button in top right)
4. Type in the email of the user you want to add to the platform
5. Choose what kind of account you want to give them access to (Admin or 6. Team member)
7. Click “invite new user”

1. To search for assets, use the Search Bar at the top of the screen.
2. Type the name of the asset or one of its related keywords and Overcast will show you the relevant results.
3. To filter assets with more granularity, you can use the advanced search by clicking the filter button at the right side of the search bar.
4. You can then filter assets based on: file size, resolution, duration and date along with other filters.
5. When you’ve inputted your desired filters, press “search”.

1. To download a file, first go to the Asset Page of the file you wish to download.
2. On this asset page, look to the vertical icon panel at the leftmost side of screen. Click the 3rd icon (down arrow) on this panel (labelled “Download”). 
3. On the right-hand side of the screen, select which format you would like to download in and click “download”.

1. To create a new project in Overcast, click into the projects tab on the left and click “create new project”
2. Put in your project name, make sure it’s enabled and then for the “client” tab you will only have one option so keep it at your account name.
3. Upload a custom thumbnail if you’d like, if you don’t, we will show a small thumbnail of a few files in the project.
4. Put in a small description if you’d like and create the project.

1. Go into the project list.
2. Click “Add a collaborator” and put in the email of the person you want to add.
3. Choose the permissions that you want the collaborator to have. 
4. Press “Invite Collaborator”

1. While viewing an asset, click the button on the right which shows “send for approval”
2. We prepopulate an email to whoever you want to send the request to with the subject line pulled directly from the filename. 
3. Add in additional information to the email. 
4. Click who to send the request to.
5. They will get an email with a secure link where they can login and see the asset and will be able to click “approved” or “send back for revisions”

1. To make a comment on or add an annotation to a video or image, click the comments tab on the left.
2. To add a comment type it into the box and it will appear on the right. You can do the same thing for annotating.
If you add an annotation, it will appear on top of the image or video.
3. For videos, if you add comments while watching the video, the comments and annotations will be timecoded.
4. You can also use the “Cycle markers” button to cycle through the comments and annotations on the video
If required, you can also download the comments in many different formats.

1. Go into a video asset in Overcast that you want to create a clip from. 
2. Select the “Edit” icon on the left side of the player. 
3. Choose the start point of the clip that you want to use by pausing the video or selecting the required time on the scrub bar. 
4. Click “Set Start”
5. Choose the endpoint of the clip that you want to use by pausing the video or selecting the required time on the scrub bar. 
6. Click “Set End”
7. You can rename or add a description of the sub clip if you’d like.
8. Choose where you want to save the new sub clip to. 
9. Click “Cut Clip” and it will save the clip to the requested location.

To view your user profile:

1. In the top right-hand corner, click your avatar. 
2. From the menu that appears, click My Profile.

To download multiple assets:

1. Select multiple assets using the drag method (click and drag over multiple files), or by holding down CTRL + clicking on the assets you want to select.
2. Click the “Asset Download” button at the top of the grid of assets.
3. The next screen will show you the files you have selected and show that you are downloading the original files.
4. Click the download button at bottom of the popup and it will start the downloads.

Steps to adding custom thumbnails to projects: 
1. Go into the “Projects” tab in the top left hamburger menu.
2. Click “View Project” on the right side of the project you want to add a thumbnail to.
3. Click “Edit” on the top left of the page. 
4. Click “Choose File” under the Custom Thumbnail section on the left. 
5. Select the file that you want to add as the custom thumbnail for the project.
6. Click “Upload image”

Now when you go back to the main asset view, your project will have the custom thumbnail.

To change user permissions:

1. Click on the Side Bar Menu
2. Click on Users
3. Click the View button of the user you wish to change
4. Click Edit
5. Click Manage Permissions
6. Choose Permission Type
7. Click Change Permissions button

Note: if you downgrade a user’s permissions to collaborator status, you will be asked to choose which projects the user will have access to.

To move, copy and delete asset(s):

1. To move an asset in Overcast, click the “Move Asset” button towards the bottom of the left side of the single asset view (it looks like a four-sided cursor)  
2. Select the Project you’d like to move the asset to, and more specifically the folder (if needed).
3. Click “Move Asset” 
This will move the file to your chosen location.

How to change the thumbnail: 

1. Click into the video you want to change
2. Choose the “change thumbnail” button on the left of the screen. 
3. Choose a file from your local storage to set as the video thumbnail using the “Choose File” 
OR
4. Play the video until you find the frame you want to use as the thumbnail, then click “Submit time” button to save it as the new thumbnail.

Step by step to How to Edit Your User Profile in Overcast:

1. Click “My Profile”
2. Go into the “Edit” section at the top of the page.
3. From there, you can change name, email, phone, avatar.
4. You can also change your password at the botton right.
5. Make sure to press “Save” to save your progress.
