# Overview

Overcast’s cloud Video Content-as-a-Service platform is predominantly built on AWS as a series of microservices. It is designed to orchestrate a number of essential services as well as integrate client led infrastructure.

The infrastructure is infinitely scalable and load balanced to support growth and high traffic events.

 

The database runs as a cluster within a region and is replicated in other regions to allow for individual machine failure or regional outages.

 

Overcast’s application layer is composed of microservices.
